Terai talks from Friday

Kathmandu, 7 Feb: A representative of the seven-party government is holding talks with representatives of Terai Madesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP), Madesh Janaadhikar Forum and NSP (Mahoto) Friday, Janadharana reports.
An environment has been created after unofficial talks between prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala and Madesh leaders.
Madesh leaders insisted they wouldn’t talk with peace minister Ram Chandra Paudel.
With the agreement between the prime minister and Maoists, home minister Krishna Prasad Shitaula and Mahesh Kumar Singh have been deputed for talks with Mahanta Thakur and Upendra Yadav.
Paudel has been cut down to size.
Prachanda and Shitaula held secret talks in Nepalgunj.

Nepali monarchy garland, people string: King

Kathmandu, 7 Feb: King delved at length Friday with editor of Hindu.
“Nepali monarchy, it’s being proved, is a garland of flowers. Religion is a flower and the Nepali people are a thread. The flower and thread has given monarchy a form,” Pawan Thapa ‘Quantal’ quoted the King as saying.
‘That’s why religion, Nepali people and monarchy that a deep and abiding link. This is the past, present and future. That’s why Nepal is regarded as a theocratic state,” the King told Quantal.
‘Hindu religion is a way of life on Nepali people. We are one in diversity. Hindu religion is part and parcel of our life. Who is there who doesn’t love a part of himself?”
The King said: “W shouldn’t ignore the past. The past is our life. What’s why the past should not be forgotten and it should be nurtured. We should protest our lives ourselves.” The King said.
