Army warning

Kathmandu, 21 March: Without naming Maoists or separatist groups in the south , Nepal Army Thursday it won’t come to an agreement with any ‘element’ playing against Nepal’s integrity and sovereignty.
The army, through an official statement, also said it won’t compromise with those who have raised arms and opting for a politics of arms and those trying to topple the democratic process through arms.
The army said it won’t work with elements pushing extremism, terrorism and radicalism.
All these groups are currently active in the country.
The army said it won’t cooperate with such elements in one official statement.
The Nepal Army said ‘some elements’ are pushing ‘instability’ and ‘chaos’ pushing heir interests and attempting to drag the army in a controversy.

Maoists claim attempt to assassinate Prachanda; other details

Kathmandu, 21 March: Maoists said at attempt was made this week to assassinate Prachanda in Rolpa where the party chief was campaigning.
The party said two Maoists were killed after a failed attempt to kill Prachanda.
Maoists will hold a two-day election review meeting in the capital from
29 March.
Without identifying a source, the news paper said the party will discuss how to turn the election into an urban rebellion.
