Chinese PLA troops haven’t entered Nepal: Foreign Ministry

By Bhola B Rana

Kathmandu, 29 March: Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) members haven’t entered Nepal denying foreign press reports, Spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Hari Bahadur Thapa told Annapurna Post.
“We don’t have any information so far of Chinese PLA entering Nepal by crossing the border.
“Such rumours are baseless aimed to spoil Nepal’s reputation,” he said.
Some reports said Chinese troops entered Nepal to watch activities after the outbreak of unrest in neighbouring Tibet.
Tibetans have been staging almost daily protests in front of the UN office here demanding intervention in Tibet and against the August Beijing Olympics.
For the first time, nearly 20 refugees Friday entered the UN premises scaling its wall demanding food and clothes.
