Debyani campaigns for father Pashupati SJB Rana

Kathmandu, 27 March: Debyani, the petite woman behind the 1 June 2001 Narayanhiti royal palace massacre, has taken timeout from her UN job in New Delhi to campaign for her father and RPP Chairman Pashupati SJB Rana in Sindhulalchowk.
The job isn’t new to the woman behind Crown Prince Dipendra’s woman.
She learnt the job from the panchayat days while campaigning for her father fromh his traditional constituency.
An enraged Dipendra shot dead his father King Birendra and the entire family after his parents objected to his marriage with Debyani who is married into an Indian Rajput family with connections to Sonia Gandhi.
“I am here to collect votes for my father,” Debyani said.
Girija Prasad Koirala, who was prime minister when the massacre broke, never ordered a serious investigation of any possible link between Debyani and the massacre.

Prachanda says his party will get 150 seats

Kathmandu, 27 March: Chairman Prachanda said Tuesday CPN (Maoist) party will grab 150 seats is the 10 April constituent assembly.
Altogether 240 members are directly elected and another 335 are elected through indirect elections.
Voter’s still don’t know what the vote is all about since they only have 30-year experience in casting ballots in parliamentary elections.
The election result won’t decide the future of the Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala government.
A result, like in parliamentary elections, won’t decide the government’s future.
It will still be decided by three parties who are expected to dominate politics after the vote with foreign and inside military support.
Koirala has already proposed continuing with the coalition government after elections.
But CPN (Maoist) need a majority to push a powerful presidential system they are demanding opposed by Congress and CPN-UML.
Maoists have charged a ‘ceremonial presidency’ of Congress and CPN-UML will be an extension of ceremonial monarchy.
But it’s doubtful if elections will take place with daily violence.
Four Maoists were injured in Congress attack in Gorkha Thursday, the party said.
An armed man was arrested from Prachanda’s election rally Wednesday in Siraha.
Maoists Thursday continued their attacks of rival parties; the morning began with an attack on Congress in neighbouring Dhading.
