New RAW chief in town amid crisis

Kathmandu, 3 March: The I-factor invariably figures in almost anything important that takes place in Nepal, newsfront reports.
The development that led to the signing of an accord between the government and the United Madesh Democratic Front (UMDF) was not an exception.
Insiders say Madesh leaders ultimately signed the accord after India conveyed through a senior official of its external intelligence outfit-RAW-, that not signing the accord would spell ‘peril’ for UMDF.
The official, Gurinder Singh who holds the Joint Director’s position in the outfit was on a two-day visit to Kathmandu which coincided with the signing of the event.
Singh is expected to replace the current RAW chief, A K Chaturvedi when he retires, pre-maturely or on completion of his terms.

Baburam Bhattarai kills small pigs, worships big ones

Kathmandu, 3 March: Dr Babruam Bhattarai offered puja at Gorakhnath temple and received blessings from the priest for a new Nepal and in returned offered Rs 500, Sanghu reports.
The action has created awareness and curiosity in political and other circles in the capital.
A debate has ensued whether the action reflects Maoist character.
During the war, Maoists destroyed temples and idols nation-wide.
Baburam’s act is like killing small pigs while worshipping bigger ones.

Sujata flying to New Delhi on BJP invitation

Kathmandu, 3 March: Minister without portfolio is flying to New Delhi Monday on the invitation of BJP, Tarun reports.
India’s main opposition has invited her to discuss the 10 April election, according to information available.
BJP is trying to stop the rise of communists in Nepal by supporting monarchy.
Sujata has been saying monarchy is less harmful than communists.
