RPP-Nepal gets support of Nepali diaspora

Kathmandu, 7 March: Nepalese nationalist diaspora has endorsed the Rastriya Prajantra Party (RPP)- Nepal 10 April constituent assembly election campaign.
“RPP- Nepal stands on the principles that suit Nepali soil, Nepali nation, Nepali culture, tradition and religion, RPP- Nepal must win the elections.
Its stand on Constitutional Monarchy and Hindu nation is what the people of Nepal has always cherished for,” organizations representing the diaspora in all the continents said.
“Though we Nepalese are scattered all over the world, our heart is always with the people of Sovereign Nepal.
“We, the Nepalese diaspora ask all patriot Nepalese to stand by the RPP- Nepal and all other party that support the cause of Constitutional Monarchy and Hindu nation in order to continue our existence as sovereign Nepali citizens.
“We also denounce the seven party alliance and Maoists that tried to sale our souls to foreign elements. We will never accept the result of CA on Monarchy and Hindu Religion unless and until people's direct verdict through referendum comes out. “The Nepalese people cannot trust the leaders who have pajero culture and the culture of intimidation and killings.
“The free and fair elections cannot be held under this India puppet government of Girija Prasad Koirala guided by the ultra-left, Maoists Party and CPN- UML. We diaspora also demand for the neutral election government who will conduct CA and referendum.
“The Nepalese diaspora requests all Nepali brothers and sisters to rise up and say no to Indian agents: SPAM,” a statement on behalf of the organizations said.

Election gains momentum in the capital

Kathmandu, 7 March: Election campaign for the controversial election gained momentum Friday in the capital one day 2,020 candidates in 73 districts filed nominations peacefully Thursday for the 10 April constituent assembly direct elections, Election Commission said.
Maoist Chairman Prachanda launched a door-to-door campaign in Kathmandu-10 that encompasses the university town of Kirtipur—a traditional communist bastion; CPN (Maoist) isreleasing its election manifesto for sweeping changes, political and economic—for what it called a new Nepal..
The student wind of Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala’s Nepali Congress launched a campaign from Baneshwor.
The Commission Friday started scrutiny of applications to publish a names are being published Sunday after investigating complaints to be filed Friday.
At the request of the government, the Election Commission opened nominations for the second time to enable parties that didn’t submit nominations in the first round of nominations during a strike by a three-party terai front rejecting elections and demanding self-determination and provincial rule in the terai.

MJF Chairman Upendra Yadav will take on Sujata, daughter of the prime minister from Sunsari-5, a traditional constituency of Girija Prasad Koirala.
Congress gave a ticket to Sujata to help her secure an easy victory.
Chairman Prachand launched a door-to door campaign in Kathmandu-10 Friday coinciding with the launch of the party election manifesto.
Congress rebel candidate Bijaya Gupta is challenging acting President Sushil Koirala in Banke and another rebel candidate Ram Chandra Chataut is taking on Sher Bahadur Deuba in Dandeldhura; Deuba is also contesting from Kanchanpur to ensure his election to the assembly.

UNMIN issues passenger list of ill-fated chopper crash

Kathmandu, 7 March: Four days after the crash, UNMIN Friday issued list of passengers and crew members onboard the chartered Russian helicopter that crashed killing 10 passengers and crew.
But Nepal government says there were 12 persons onboard..
Nepalese killed in the worst crash after September 2006 were: : Lt Col Bhim Bahadur Gurung, Rabindra Khaniya and Rajesh Maharjan.
Foreign arms monitors killed were: Lt Col Hyung Jum Park of South Korea, Lt Col Sondang Irawan from Indonesia, Maj Famara Jammeh from Gambia and Maj Mats Norhult of Sweden.
Crew members were: Dzmitry Malyushau [Belrus], Nikolay Yamscikov [Russia] and Sergey Oreshenko [Russia].
Bodies of five crash victims were identified and handed
over to their nearest relatives Thursday.
Bodies of all the crew members and two Nepalese have been identified.
A South Korean team headed by a general is conducting its own independent to identify the remains of the Korean arms monitor.
Controversy surrounds the crash.
The UN helicopter crashed even as formalities were not completed with the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority, Bimarsha reports.
The Authority was notified of its flying route before the crash.
The same chopper made an emergency landing in Dhankuta several days ago after an engine malfunction.
Quoting unidentified sources, the weekly newspaper Friday said UNMIN had been flying helicopters over Nepali skies without agreement and notice while taking unauthorized persons to the apron at Tribhuvan International Airport increasing chances of crashes.
After threats to stop flights, UNMIN paid landing and parking fees totaling nearly Rs 10 million.

Moslem shot dead, teacher shot and, injured
Kathmandu, 7 March: A Moslem died of bullet injuries in a shooting at a temple in Kailali Friday at three in the morning during celebrations marking Shibaratri.
The man died while being rushed to hospital.
Overnight celebrations continued Friday morning.
A child died Friday while playing with an abandoned bomb.
Violence continues in the terai ahead of the 10 April assembly elections even after an agreement with rebels to conduct the vote..
A hill school teacher Bijaya Lama was shot and seriously injured in Janakpur Thursday.
