Prachanda says Maoists will continue to work with seven parties

Kathmandu, 12 April: Sensing victory is close, Chairman Prachanda said Maoists will give continuity to the cooperative relations and continuity to the seven-party allinace.
Prachanda said this immediately after winning from Kathmandu-10; he’s contesting from Rolpa as well.
Prachanda echoed the feelings another victorious candidate of Chairman Narayanman Bijukakchaya of Nepal Majdoor Kishan Party—another constituent of the ruling alliance.
“The directive of the people for a federal democratic republic will be implemented. That was the mandate for a new Nepal.
"Cooperation and joint work with seven parties will continue," Prachanda said and added the party will work for good relations with immediate neighbours India and China.
Of 41 seats officially declared, CPN (Maoist) has bagged 25 seats, Congress seven, CPN-UML six, NMKP two and Madesh Janaadhikar Forum one.
The preponderance and dominant role of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML has been smashed.
‘”We wanted to give a chance to a new party,” several respondents told Radio Nepal.
Maoists continue to lead in most constituencies where vote counting; vote counting in nearly one-third constituencies continues; direct elections were held for 240 assembly seats.
Congress Acting President Sushil Koirala resigned after he was defeated by a candidate of Nepal Madesh Janaadhikar Forum from Banke; CPN-UML General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal also resigned.
Amrit Kumar Bohra is the second ranking leader in the party; a seat for him in the assembly is ensured as his name has been propose din a closed list for indirect elections.
A seat for Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala is also ensured; he has been proposed in the party’s closed list.
Forum Chairman Upendra Yadav is set to wrest a traditional Sunsari constituency from the Koirala family whose daughter Sujata is trailing in third position.
