Appa Sherpa climbs Everest for record 18th time

Kathmandu, 22 May: Appa Sherpa, 37, improved a personal record and climbed the 8848 meters world’s tallest peak Mount Everest for the 18th time Thursday, Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) said.
Appa climbed with other members of a 35-member team.
Appa, who first stepped on the world’s highest point in 1989, and had stopped climbing after moving to the USA but came back to climb the Everest.
The sherpa moved to USA for the better opportunities.

Govt. forms team to investigate businessman’s death
Kathmandu, 22 May: Government formed a three-member commission headed by retired supreme court justice Rajendra Kumar Bhahdari to investigate the abduction and murder of businessman Ram Kazi Shrestha.
The commission should report within 15 days.
Maoists, under pressure from different sections of society, announced their own investigation team Thursday morning.
Continuing protests were held for the fifth consecutive day Thursday demanding an investigation into the murder.
