PM Koirala hasn’t returned TV equipment

Kathmandu, 7 May: Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala hasn’t returned television equipment taken from Nepal Television.
State television’s employee union Tuesday made public the embarrassing an internal audit report.
Thirty-one former ministers, a chief justice and senior government officials took the state property for person use without returning them.
The report has recommended action against erring ministers and officials for not returning government property.

WHF demands Hindu kingdom

Kathmandu, 7 May: World Hindu Federation (WHF) Tuesday demanded the reinstatement of Nepal as Hindu kingdom.
The Federation, in a statement, condemned the declaration of a secular state by the interim parliament.
Nepal, with more than 80 percent Hindus, was a Hindu kingdom before the 1990 April movement.
The WHF said to would ‘go to any extent’ to reinstate a Hindu kingdom.
Retired colonel Hem Bahadur Karki was elected federation president by the 8th general council meeting 27 April in India.
Karki succeeds Bharat Keshari Simha.

Ramananda Prasad Singh dead

Kathmandu, 7 May: Former attorney general Ramananda Prasad Singh died Wednesday, family said.
He was 78 and was a diabetic.
He hailed from the Tharu community but rose to hold senior position in government.
He was once a candidate for the International Court of Justice in the Hague.
