Violence continues unabated in tarai
Kathmandu, 10 May: Violence continues even with more intensity after the 10 April election in the tarai.
Bauwa Lal Yadav was shot dead in Saptari and the home of Congress lawmaker Sabitri Singh was bombed overnight in Rautahat.
At least 14 persons have been killed, more than 30 abducted and scores of other sustained injuries in separate incidents in the 13 eastern and central tarai districts after elections, The Kathmandu Post reports.
Deputy IGP Ravindra Pratap Shah informed that criminal elements have begun to rear their heads again in Siraha and Saptari.
‘The present situation is comparable to what it was till a week before the election,” Shah said.
