Former King’s grandchildren admitted to school in Singapore

Kathmandu, 11 Aug: Two older grandchildren of former King Gyanendra have secured admission in the Canadian International School in Singapore, The Himalayan Times reports.
Purnina the eldest daughter of former Crown Prince Paras has been admitted to Class III while her brother Hridyendra [second in line of succession before republic announcement] has been admitted in Class I.
The children start their academic year on August 12.
The sources said the Paras’ youngest daughter Krittika will return to Kathmandu with her mother Himani in a week or two and commence her schooling in either British or Lincoln School here [Kathmandu].
Prena [sister of Paras] is also planning to get her child admitted in the same school in Singapore.

“Secret‘ meeting in Indian embassy

Kathmandu, 11 Aug: A secret conspiratorial was held at the Indian embassy Friday 8 Augist, Janadisha which is close to Maoists reports.
At a dinner meeting, with Ambassador Rakesh Sood, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli, Janasakti Party Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa and Congress leader Ram Chandra Paudel were present..
At the meeting
Discussions centered around on how to influence the vote in the CA which is to elect a prime minister after failure to form a consensus government.
The meting also discussed keeping Maoists way from government.

Sonia Gandhi, PM Koirala meeting lasted only 10 minutes

Kathmandu, 11 Aug: Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala’s recent visit to New Delhi was unproductive, Janabhavana reports.
He held discussions with Congress (I) president Sonia Gandhi only for 10 minutes in the presense of Dr Karan Singh.
But Nepali Congress gave a different account saying Koirala held separate meetings with Gandhi and Dr Singh.
Koirala’s meeting with opposition and BJP leader leader Lal Krishna Advani lasted longer.
He told Koirala Nepali Congress made a serious mistake by abandoning the twin pillar concept of constitutional monarchy and multi-party democracy; leader Advani told Koirala his party believes in the twin pillar system.
He reprimanded Koirala on the declaration of a secular state and asked the prime minister who was behind the declaration of a secular state which was never raised during the movement.
Religion issue was never during the movement.
Koirala tried to divert the subject to raise the issue of a Maoist threat which Gandhi and Advani didn’t want to listen to.

Fear of corruption exposure behind failure of assemble govt: Dr Baburam Bhattarai

Kathmandu, 11Aug: Maoist leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai said people who want to hide corrupt malpractices are behind the he failure to form a government our months after CA elections, Janadisha reports.
Home and defence ministries are centers of corruption.
“Eighty-four year old Girija Prasad Koirala doesn’t to leave office of hide his corrupt practices. Biggest corruption is prevalent in security agencies. Police is encouraging corruption.
“It will take 40 to 50 years for a prime minister to become a multi-millionaire. But in Nepal, a person becomes a billionaire within months after becoming a minister. There’ll be no change until tendency to make illegal earnings is not abandoned,” Bhattarai said at a book release programme.
[Note: Government formation has been stalled because Maoists, Congress and CPN-UML want control of home, defence and finance ministries.]
