Former king greets 22,000 Nepalis, foreigners in dasain

Kathmandu, 29 Sept: Girija Prasad Koirala has received dasain greetings from former King Gyanendra, Jana Bhawana reports.
Besides Koirala, leaders who pushed a republic have also received greeting cards.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Madhav Nepal, Jhalanath Khanal of CPN-UML, Mashal’s Mohan Bikram and Maoist Mohan Baidya have also received greeting cards.
In the past, 15,000 cards were printed; sources said 22,000 cards have been printed this time.
More foreigners have received cards this year, according to the same source.
Jamara will be kept this time at Nirmal Niwas, according to information received.
Where to keep jamara and whether to visit temples during dasain will be decided at a meeting Monday; the meeting with secretaries scheduled for Sunday couldn’t take place at Nirmal Niwas because of a strike called by Rashriya Janamorcha.
The card is sent in the name of Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Deb.
