Load-shedding increased to 35 hours a week
Kathmandu, 9 Sept: Load-shedding is being increased to 35 from 25 hours a week from Tuesday after two units of the 60 MW Kulekhani and the 69 MW Marshyangdi were closed down for repairs, Kantipur reports.
Load-shedding is enforced every day causing inconvenience.

Two expelled from CPN (Unity Center-Mashal)
Kathmandu, 9 Sept: Central members Bharat Dahal ‘Aditya’ and Sadhya Bahadur Bhandari Nirish have been suspended from CPN (Unity Center-Mashal) the party for anti-party activities, the party said Monday.
Dahal has been charged for being a ‘photocopy’ of Prachanda.

50 Nepalis being amnestied in Saudi Arabia
Kathmandu, 9 Sept: Fifty Nepalis serving jail terms for minor offences are being released from jails in Saudi Arabia during Ramadan, published reports said Tuesday quoting Third Secretary Pushpa Bhattarai at the Nepalese Embassy in Riyadh.
Twenty-two are serving sentences at Alhasa prison.

Nepali Congress also follows Maoists, CPN-UML

Kathmandu, 9 Sept: Like the Maoist YCL and CPN-UML Youth Force, Congress has also formed Tarun Dastha [group] which will be a ‘fighting’ organization, Laxman Khadka reports in Naya Patrika.
Thd organization was launched in Dolakha Monday after a party central committee meeting and will cover all districts.
The new group’s slogan is: ‘Need of youth group for class society protection and organizational self-defence’.
Janmajaya Timilshina, central secretary of Tarun Dal, the youth wing of the party, is the coordinator.
The Dolakha unit has 250 members and they shouted anti-Maoist slogans while parading through Charikot.
“We’ll control the arson of YCL and .Youth Force without taking law into hand,” Timilshina told the Dolakha rally adding the group will fight corruption, irregularities and aberrations.
