Record wheat harvest

Kathmandu, 15 Sept: A record 1.57 million tones wheat was produce in the fiscal year 2064/65, Chief Scientist Bhola Man Singh of Nepal Agriculture Research Council (NARC) said.
The crop was planted in 760,481 hectares of farmland.
Production averaged 2,225 tonnes per hectare and in the last five years area under wheat cultivation increased six-fold.

Rebel group emerges in CPN (Maoist)

Kathmandu, 15 Sept: Some Moist youth leaders have formed Revolutionary Leftwing
to give continuity to the people’s war, Tarun reports.
The group was formed after CPN (Maoist) turned to capitalism, according to them.
Coordinator Krishna Adhikari said a 15-member permanent central committee has been formed.
Former commissar Adhikari left the party two years ago.
Former Kathmandu district secretary Prakash Gautam ‘Aditya’ and Bhaktapur former secretary Sriram Khaiju are also members of the committee.

Prachanda lays wreath at Gandhi samadhi

Kathmandu, 15 Sept: Visiting Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda began his official programme in New Delhi by laying a wreath a the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi Monday, Radio Nepal said.
He is scheduled to hold talks with his counterpart Manmohan Singh later Monday.

Maoists, MJF heading towards clash in Siraha (BREAKING NEWS)

Kathmandu, 15Sept: Maoist Land Reforms Minister Matrika Prasad Yadav is leading a Maoist team to recapture seized assets police recovered from settlers supported by the largest party in Siraha Monday.
Police and Maoists are heading for a direct clash, reports from the district said.
Police overnight recovered the seized assets from settlers on land seized by Maoists.
MJF, a constituent of the ruling coalition, has organized continuous strike for nine days pressing for the return of seized assets of Dipak Shah, a Forum supporter.
A curfew continued for the ninth day in the district Monday to open highways for vehicles.
