Five injured in mosque bomb blast

Kathmandu, 5 Oct: Five persons—all Muslims--were injured in a blast at a mosque in Hattimuda VDC in Morang Saturday evening.
Nazrul Hassain, president of Islami Sangh Nepal demanded strong action against those involved while condemning the bombing.
A bomb was lobbed in the mosque during prayers.
A bomb blast at a mosque in Biratnagar five months ago killed three persons.

He fell while photographing the river.

Terai rebels declare cease-fire; other details

Kathmandu, 5 Oct: Over a dozen underground Tarai outfits, which reportedly held discussions among themselves at an undisclosed location in the Indian state of Bihar recently, said today [Friday[ that there was possibility of dialogue with the government if the latter pledges to make it ‘meaningful’, The Kathmandu Post reports.
Winding up their meeting, the outfits inked a 15-point agreement on forging a working alliance.
“If the government fosters an environment that is favourable and pledges to make the talks meaningful, we are ready to sit for such talks,” JTMM leader Bidrohi said.
The group also declared a ceasefire period from 6 to 14 October.
The meeting decided to form a joint armed front with representation of all the underground outfits. One “Sandesh’ has been named coordinator of the front while Bidrohi is vice-coordinator.
Members of the outfits have intensified their extortion drives in the tarai districts in recent days.
Education Minister Renu Yadav, a member of the government talks team constituted Friday, said letters of invitation for a dialogue will be sent to rebels after dasain.
