Dev Anand ousts Manisha Koirala
Kathmandu, 4 Nov: Manisha Koirala is out from evergreen actor-filmmaker Dev Anand’s Chargesheet, agencies report.
Divya Dutta has been asked to step into her shoes.
“Devsaab had discussed the project with Manisha, who had said that she was keen to do the film. But thereafter, Manisha did not respond to Debssab’s calls,” a Bollywood source revealed.
After a few days she SMSed him that she was in the US.
Dev Anand confirmed the story [Manisha replacement by Divya] and said,” It’s true that Manisha s no longer doing Chargesheet.”

Consumer inflation hits 13.5%

Kathmandu, 4 Nov: There’s ban news for the Maoist-led government and Dr Baburam Bhattarai- a politician, architectural engineer turned finance minister.
Year-on-year consumer inflation jumped to 13.5 percent by end of mid-September end from seven percent in the same period the previous fiscal year.
Nepal Rashtra Bank attributed the double digit inflation to rise in prices of food, beverage, non-food and service groups.
But overall year-to-year salary and wage rose only 9.2 percent.
The Maoist-driven government had hoped to rein in inflation to single digit.

Nepal could go Yugoslavia way: Ramesh Nath Pandey
Kathmandu, 4 Nov: Foreign minister in the
royal regime, Ramesh Nath Pandey, said Wednesday Nepal could turn out to be a truncated Yugoslavia.
“The question is whether we are able to institutionalize the changes and keep the national integrity intact. In we cannot overcome such challenges, then we may meet Yugoslavia’s fate.”
Pandey said this in reply to the question of The Himalayan Times: Is the revival of monarchy possible in Nepal?
“In Afghanistan, the abolition of kingship has pushed the county into turmoil,” he observed.

Air fare to be slashed
Kathmandu, 4 Nov: Air fare on domestic routes will be slashed Rs 54 to Rs 180 from Thursday following a decision of Air Service Management Association.
The Association decision follows the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to reduce price of aviation for the second time in one month after adjusting prices of POL products with the fall in of oil price in the international market.
But transport fares won’t be immediately reduced.
“We are not against an automatic adjustment system for transportation fares in relation to fluctations in fuel prices, but we have no scientific mechanism to effectively implement the idea.
“We need at least two months to develop a proper pricing mechanism,” Transport Minister Lekh Raj Bhatta told The Kathmandu Post.
NOC has adopted a policy to adjust fuel prices with rise and fall of oil price in the international market.

Mandala prohibited for protestors
Kathmandu, 4 Nov: Maitighar Mandala is now out of bounds for the city’s regular protestors; it was a popular site to protestors to assembly and shout out their grievances.
The demonstration site is on a highway tri-junction below army headquarters; roads diverge to Lalitpur, Bhaktaput and the capital from Mandala.
District administration has suggested Open Air Theatre as an alternate protest site.
Kathmandu CDO Dhruba Sharma said regular protests disrupted vehicular traffic at Maitighar.
