PM Prachanda thrown back charge at Congress and Koirala

Kathmandu, 7 Dec: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda said Nepali Congress ‘was the first to break consensus politics’ denying a charge of Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala.
The charge is ‘false’. Prachanda said.
The charge coming from a ‘veteran’ person like Koirala was unbecoming, he said in Chitwan Sunday, according to Radio Nepal.

China giving Nepal Rs 207 million military assistance

Kathmandu, 7 Dec: China Sunday agreed to extend assistance of Rs 207 million for purchase of non-lethal military equipment.
The agreement was signed by Defence Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal and visiting Deputy Chief of the PLA Lt Gen Ma Xiantian.
Two sides will identify the type of military hardware later.
Thapa and Gen Ma discussed democracy, the peace process an China’s development assistance before the signing af an agreement.
“China won’t interfere in Nepal’s internal affairs and is ready to help in Nepal’s development efforts positively,” Thapa said after the talks.
“China is ready to help positively, peace progress and integration and China will accept the decision of the Nepal,” Thapa said quoting the Chinese delegation
According to Thapa, the Chinese military delegation leader told him any border issue should be resolved bilaterally.
A 10-member Chinese military delegation arrived Saturday for a five-day visit.
Thapa said third party mediation was not required in the border dispute at Kalapani occupied by India.
Deputy Prime Minister Bamdeb Gautam had earlier suggested mediation.
