Puja resumes at Pashupatinath temple (BREAKING NEWS)

Kathmandu, 8 Jan: Indian priests resumed puja or worship at Pashupatinath temple at noon Thursday after several days’ disruption when two Nepali priests were appointed by the Maoist-led government to replace the Indian priests.
PM Prachanda, patron of Pashupati Area Development Trust cancelled an order replacing Indians with two Nepali Brahmin priests.
The Trust decision was opposed at home and abroad by Hindu devotees.

Maoist central committee begins meet

Kathmandu, 8 Jan: Maoist central committee began a meeting in the capital Thursday to finalize merger with CPN (Unity Center/Mashal).
The meeting will also discuss an agenda for an extended central committee meeting after concessions to the opposition in temple and other disputes.
A merger with CPN (Maoist) has been approved by a national meet of Mashal.

Prison riot in Bhairahawa

Kathmandu, 8 Jan: More than one dozen prisoners and prison managers were injured in a clash at a prison in Bhairahawa Thursday.
Dissatisfied prisoners rioted with prison conditions.
