Capital receives rain for third successive day

Kathmandu, 31 March: To the relief of residents, the capital received rainfall Tuesday evening for the third successive day.
The capital and the rest of the country have suffered a five-month dry spell.

US Ambassador Powell in Mustang

Kathmandu, 31 March: UN Ambassador Nancy J. Powell Tuesday visited Mustang on the Nepal-Tibet border.
She held discussions with the then raja of the district across the Himalaya at a time when China has closed the Nepal-Tibet border on the 50th anniversary of the crushing of the rebellion by Tibetans by China.
Police in the capital Tuesday broke up a protest demonstration by Tibetan refugees in front of the Chinese embassy.
Vehicular movement was disturbed.
