CPN-UML wrests Dhanusha constituency

Kathmandu, 11 April: Raghubir Mahaseth of CPN-UML was elected from a Dhanusha constituency bagging 13,222 votes.
He defeated Shri Krishna Yadav of TMLP who got 12,189 votes in Friday’s by-elections for six parliamentary constituencies.
Maoists won from two constituencies and Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and MJF from one constituency each.
Maoists are leading in vote counting from a district in Rolpa vacated by Prime Minister Prachanda.

Maoists, CPN-UML form task force to suggest break in deadlock

Kathmandu, 11 April: Top Maoist and CPN-UML leaders met and formed a joint six-member study task force within 24 hours to suggest a solution to break a deadlock that has obstructed parliamentary and cabinet meetings.
There are three members each from the two parties.
Among members are Narayan Kazi Shrestha from Unified CPN (Maoist) and Ashok Rai from CPN-UMl.
Parliament was again adjourned Saturday without conducting business.
