Maoist secretariat urges further study of army chief’s reply (BREAKING NEWS)

Kathmandu, 22 April: An emergency meeting of Maoist secretariat Wednesday asked the government to decide on the future of Army Chief Gen Rukmangud Katawal only after further study of his written response to a charge of defying government order, leader CP Gajurel said.
No deadline was set for the study.
The meeting also objected to the intervention of the president on the issue on behalf of the army chief.
Gajurel admitted the government came under intense foreign pressure as well
The meeting decided to bring to bring people on a streets to support a Maoist action against Gen Katawal.

Jhalanath Khanal meets Chinese leaders

Kathmandu, 22 April: A visiting delegation headed by CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal on Tuesday called on senior leader of Chinese Communist Party (CPC) Li Chang Chun at Great Hall of he People in Beijing, RSS reports.
On the occasion, Chairperson Khanal presented his views about the transitional political situation of Nepal.
Likewise, on Monday the visiting delegation held discussions with Chief of International Department of CPC and Minister Wang Jiarui about relations between two political parties.
The five-member CPN-UML team is on China visit at the invitation of CPC.

Two broadsheets from Friday

Kathmandu, 22 April: Hemraj Geywali, Chairman of Nepal Republic Media (P) Ltd is launching two newspapers from the capital Friday after selling off all his interests in Kantipur publications.
Prateek Pradhan is group editor of English daily Republica and vernacular daily Nagarik.
Ameet Dhakal is Editor-in-Chief of Republica and Narayan Wagle is Chief Editor of Nagarik.
