PM, chief justice meet (BREAKING NEWS)

Kathmandu, 5 April: Prime Minister Prachanda and Chief Justice Kedar Prasad Giri met Sunday in an unusual meeting that questions the independence of the judiciary.
The meeting was held even as a national meeting of judges said contacts between government ministers and judges should be discouraged.
The meeting occurred the supreme court bench was discussing a government request to the supreme court to reconsider a decision ot reinstate eight brigadier generals.
The meeting took place one day after the prime minister returned from visits of Norway and Finland.
Maoist leaders, including Dr Baburam Bhattarai, have launched a tirade against the supreme court on its decision of brigadiers.
The supreme court has rescheduled Sunday’s hearing on the generals
Prachanda also held discussions with Indian Ambassador Rakesh Sood Sunday.
The Indian ambassador has a larger than life interest and influence in nepali politics.
