Areas around president’s house, army headquarters declared prohibited areas

Kathmandu, 4 May: Areas around the presidential palace and army headquarters were declared prohibited areas where demonstrations and public meetings have been banned.
The local administration of Kathmandu declared areas prohibited amid continuing demonstrations in support and against Maoist decision to sack Army Chief Gen Rukmangud Katawal.
But President Dr Ram Baran Yadav asked the army chief to continue.
Areas around the Chinese embassy is also a prohibited area.

Curfew in parts of Bhaktapur

Kathmandu, 4 May: Local administration declared curfew in parts of Bhaktapur Monday following violence to protest the death of a person in a vehicular accident.
Dozens of vehicles were smashed and a brick factory destroyed.
