Four parties discuss common minimum programme

Kathmandu, 31 May: Four leading ruling parties Sunday discussed a proposed 50-point common minimum programme and a code of conduct for a CPN-UML –led government of the Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Maoists welcomed him with black flags as he visited his home district Sunday.
Maoists announced sit-in programmes Sunday after a secretariat at all 75 district headquarters on 3 June to protest what they called unconstitutional act by President Dr Ram Baran YAdav to retain Army Chief Gen Rukmangud Katawal dismissed by Maoists who themselves were forced out of office embarrassingly.
Maoists announced first phase anti-president programmes until mid-June Sunday.
Unified CPN (Maoist) again obstructed a regular session of parliament.

Church bomb blast victim dies

Kathmandu, 31 May: Griha Laxmi Joshi, a victim of a 15 May Lalitpur church bomb blast died Sunday while undergoing treatment.
Her daughter was among two killed in the blast in which 12 were injured.
Christians in the Valley protested the bombing.

Load-shedding reduced to four hours

Kathmandu, 31 May: Load-shedding will be reduced to four hours everyday from Monday with the timely arrival of monsoon rains, Nepal Electricity Authority said.
Load-shedding was reduced to eight hours from 16 hours at the peak of winter dry season.
