Kathmandu, 20 May: Heads of US and EU missions in Nepal Wednesday through a statement intervened and asked Maoists to pave the way for Madhav Kumar Nepal-led government to be installed earliest.
“The Heads of Mission of the European Union , Norway and the United States express their hope that a new government can be formed as quickly as possible to allow the parties, inside and outside government, to work together to deliver on the key commitments of the peace process and on the needs of the people of Nepal.
“They call upon the parties to co-operate with the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly and use the mechanisms laid down in the Interim Constitution for government formation, reflecting the views of the majority of the members of the Constituent Assembly.
“They urge constructive engagement of all parties in the political process which is essential to help deliver peace and prosperity for Nepal,” a statement by Finland embassy on behalf of the embassies said.
