MJF stakes claim to form govt.

Kathmandu, 5 May: Top MJF leader and Agriculture Minister Jayaprakash Prasad Gupta Tuesday staked a claim to lead a successor government of Maoist-led administration Prime Minister Prachanda who resigned Monday.
With 53 seats in the CA and parliament, MJF is in a king-making position.
Maoists Tuesday disrupted parliament session and staged anti-presidential protests throughout the country amid threats of physical elimination of opponents.
Maoists said they will continue protests until the ouster of Army Chief Gen Rukmangud Katawal and reversal of presidential order to maintain him.

Rebel Maoist leader killed

Kathmandu, 5 May: Rebel Maoist leader Tekbir Buda was abducted and killed in Rolpa Tuesday.
He led an assault several months ago in neighbouring Pyuthan on a police post killing some policemen and decamping with stolen weapons.
Some weapons were recovered from him.
Buda headed the Mongolian Revolutionary Group.
