PM Nepal asks for national understanding

Kathmandu, 26 May: In a 15-minute address to the nation from Singha Durbar Tuesday, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal called for national understanding to complete the peace process and draft a constitution within the May 2010 deadline.
He asked parties to resolve misunderstanding.
Nepal assured a constitution will be drafted within deadline despite difficulties.
He called for negotiations for to address Madesh demands.
CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said new government will be formed within a week.
Madesh fourm of four parties demanded nine ministries.
Four biggest parties, except Maoists, discussed a common minimum programme and government formation Tuesday without reaching an agreement.
Nepali Congress and CPN-UML separately discussed a mechanism to run a successor government of Maoists.
Nepal assumed office Saturday.
Maoists announced Tuesday protest programmes against the government led by CPN-UML.

Bomb scare in Babar Mahal
Kathmandu, 26 May: There was a bomb scare in the busy BabarMahal area Tuesday.
Two persons were killed in a bombing at a church in Lalitpur during the weekend.
