Karen Langrin accuses Madhav Kumar Nepal Govt. of attempting to overturn Maoist-govt.

By Bhola B Rana

Kathmandu, 7 June: UNMIN Chief Karen Langrin Sunday leveled serious accusation against Madhav Kumar Nepal government of attempting to prioritize the negation of the previous Maoist-led government.
The first priority of this government looks like is to overturn the decision of the previous government. This won’t create a good environment. This is not the time for provocative action.
“I have to say peaceful demonstrations here aren’t always peaceful,” she said.
Nepali Congress , which was critical of UNMIN, is also in the Nepal government.
She said this in reply to a question: “In the common minimum programme of the government, the money of combatants will be collected in their personal bank accounts. Maoists are on a movement centered around the capital and district headquarters. Won’t the peace process be affected?”
“Government formation and internal politics have paralyzed the peace process now.”
She added: “ I ask political parties to give special attention to issues of ending state of impunity and search of missing persons.”
She avoids mention of new situation created by Prachanda boast and admission the ultimate aim of the Maoists is to turn Nepal into a Stalinist communist state.
