Pakistan foreign secretary arriving

Kathmandu, 27 June: Pakistan Foreign Secretary Salman Basshir arrives later Saturday for bilateral political discussions with his counterpart Gyan Chandra Acharya.
They will review bilateral political and economic relations and means to strengthen ties, Pakistan embassy said.

Mandate of OHCHR-Nepal being extended another nine months

Kathmandu, 27 June: The mandate of the OHCHR-Nepal is being extended for another nine months, foreign advisor Rajan Bhattarai of the prime minister said.
The government of Madhav Kumar Nepal earlier extended the mandate only for three months.

34 Tibetans arrested

Kathmandu, 27 June: Thirty-four Tibetans, including some women, Friday were stopped and arrested Friday at Sindhupalchowk as they attempted to enter Tibet protesting Chinese rule there.
The exiles launched their drive to enter Tibet from Baudhanath where they boarded a bus.
