New terai party launched

Kathmandu, 30 July: Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar Wednesday launched Madesh Janaadhikar Fourm Nepal Loktantrik (MJFNL) as a new party of which he is chairman.
The new party, terai’s largest, was launched after the MJF split on the issue of continuing in a nine-month Maoist led government of Prachanda which was dethrone din the vote in parliament.
Election also gave official recognition to the MJF led by Upendra Yadav which promoted ties with Maoists.
Rameshwor Raya and Nasiruddin Siddiqui and vice-chairman which Sarad Singh Bhandari is general secretary.

Madhav Kumar Nepal govt. expanded

Kathmandu, 30 July: Thakur Sharma of CPN (United) was Wednesday appointed environment minister in an expanded the-month government of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Nepal administered the oath of office immediately.


“Abuses of human rights by non-state actors, in particular by the UCPN (Maoist)’s non-cooperation with accountability mechanisms is contributing to the prevailing culture of impunity in Nepal.”
