Parliament session again adjourned

Kathmandu, 27 July: Resumed parliament session was adjourned until Tuesday for the second successive day Monday.
Maoists resumed interruption Sunday after allowing the presentation of the annual budget of 2009/10.
An all-party meeting has been called to discuss the resumed disruption.
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal was scheduled to address parliament Monday on import of weapons from India opposed by India.
UNMIN says the resumption would violate a 12-point peace agreement between Maoists and seven political parties.
But government sources said the import of non-legal weapons is regular and not illegal.
Nepal denied government is importing arms after a three-year interruption even after New Delhi said it was ready to resume supplies during a India visit of Defence Ministe Bidya Bhandari.

Landslides kill six in Sankuwasabha

Kathmandu, 27 July” Monsoon rain after a long dry triggered a landslide killing six of 13 missing persons in Sankuwasabha overnight.
Two family members were also killed in Darchula.
Landslides along highways also disrupted the movement of vehicles.
Rainfall was recorded nationwide overnight and Monday bringing happiness to farmers who planted paddy even with the onset of autumn with Nagpanchami,
