21 all-party meet inconclusive
Kathmandu, 4 Aug: A 21all-party meet Tuesday to discuss Maoist demands ,including discussion in parliament of Maoist demand on ‘unconstitutional’ presidential action to retain sacked Army Chief Gen Rukmangud Katawal was inconclusive.
The meet was convened by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal to discuss demands of Maoists who have announced parliamentary and street protests from Friday after a month-long time to address their demands ends.
Discussions lasted for four hours.
Maoist leader Narayan Kazi Shrestha said,” There was no seriousness in implementing the demands.”
Congress parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Paudel rejected Maoist demands and ‘the allegations against the president are baseless’.

Narayanhiti carnage to be investigated: Jhalanath Khanal
Kathmandu, 4 Aug: CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said the June 2001 royal palace massacre will be reinvestigated.
Khanal said this in Biratnagar Tuesday.
Khanal said any body involved at home or foreigners won’t be spared.
This is the first time a top party leader said foreigners could be involved.

Four women dead in Accham
Kathmandu, 4 Aug: Four more persons, all women, have died in Accham.
The death toll in the mid-West district has reached 12.
More than 300 persons have died in the three-month epidemic in the mid and far-West.
Government has come under heavy criticism for its handling of the medical crisis.
Government is planning to construct 5,000 toilets in Jajarkot and Rukum, the most severely affected district, in the next three months to prevent future epidemics.
