Govt. for first time supports British Gurkha demands

Kathmandu, 25 Nov: Nepal government has spoken for the first time in support of British Gurkha demands for equal treatment, Kantipur reports from London.
Government wrote to the British government through the British embassy in Kathmandu on 2 November saying Gurkha demands were just and should be immediately implemented.
Despite being an integral part of the British army Gurkhas have not been treated equally.

$80m ADB loan, grant for Nepal

Kathmandu, 25 Nov: Board of directors of Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved $10 million in grant and $70 million in loan for Nepal Air Transport Capacity Enhancement Project, the bank said.
Tribhuban International Airport, the country’s only international airport will be reconfigured and upgraded to international safety standard.
Three domestic airports at Lukla, Rara and Simikot will get improved communication equipment, visual approach aids and weather equipment.

Nepal may be out of cricket tournament

Kathmandu, 25 Nov: Nepal may not qualify for the next round of the ACC T-20 being played in UAE after losing two matches first to Malaysia and then to Oman.
Nepal lost to Oman by 12 runs Tuesday in the group match.
But Nepal won the match against Kuwait.
Nepal plays two more matches.

Govt. preparing to write off irregular expenses of ministers

Kathmandu, 25 Nov: Government is preparing to write off irregular expenses totaling Rs 10 million of former prime ministers, deputy prime ministers and ministers, Naya Patrika reports.
The money taken years ago by President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, {rime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar have not been regularized.
The Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers at the initiative of the prime minister is attempting to regularize the expenditure.
