Maoists decide to wait

Kathmandu, 21 Nov: Maoist politburo meeting Saturday decided to wait until Sunday when ailing Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala from Singapore to decide on threat of more anti-government protests.
The powerful central committee will discuss the politburo decision.
Maoists had threatened protests after government didn’t respond by Friday to demand to discuss what the UCPN (Maoist) call unconstitutional decision of President Dr Ram Baran Yadav to retain sacked Army Chief Gen Rukmangud Katawal.

Two more dead after drinking spiriousliquor

Kathmandu, 21 Nov: Two more persons died after drinking spurious liquor and three are serious at the Dadimai fair in Bara where liquor sale in banned.
Three others, including two Indians, died Friday.
Thousands of animals are sacrificed in the fair held once every five years.

US nationals advised to be cautious

Kathmandu, 21 Nov: In the midst of anti-government Maoist protests, the US government has asked its nationals to be cautious while traveling to Nepal.
The advisory comes at the height of the peak tourist season.
“We warn our citizens of the risks of traveling to Nepal, and urge caution when traveling under unavoidable circumstances amidst political violence,” a State Department travel advisory issued Thursday said.

Fire at Wai Wai factory

Kathmandu, 21 Nov: Assets worth four million rupees was damaged in a fire at Wai Wai factory in Lalitpur Friday.
Fire fighters from three valley towns took three hours to extinguish the fire.

ADB grant for Nepal

Kathmandu, 21 Nov: Asian Development Bank (ADB) has issued Nepal $ 12.5 in grant and another $ 12.75 in loan for tourism infrastructure development.
The money will be invested in developing Buddhist tourism sites as well.
