Maoists call off strike

Kathmandu 8 Dec: Maoists called off a nation-wide strike of transport workers and industries called by trade unions Wednesday.
The strike was withdrawn, the party said, at the request of human rights workers who have convened a national meet and people’s pressure.
Maoists are on the third phase of their anti-government and anti-president protests.

Chinese worker dead

Kathmandu, 8 Dec.: A Chinese labourer working to construct a second highway linking Nepal with Tibet has died in Rasuwa adjoining he capital.
His body will be handed over to the Chinese embassy after postmortem.
