Prime Minister Nepal, Prachanda hold discussions; correction on previous report
Kathmandu, 6 Dec: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar drove to the residence of Chairman Prachanda in the capital and held discussions on the day Maoists closed down the nation Sunday/
They also discussed the forcible police eviction of 5,000 Maoist squatters who captured government forest in Kailali in the far-West and an end to the political impasse.
The two leaders agreed to convene a meeting of Maoists, Nepali Congress and UML to end a prolonged deadlock Monday.
Prachanda was assisted by Mohan Baidya Kiran and Narayan Kazi Shrestha.
Home Minister Bhim Rawaa told reporters Sunday Maoist squatters in Kailali Saturday seized one pistol from the police and several rounds of ammunition during the eviction and not 41 pistols as earlier reported.
Maoists torched an ambulance in Kailali.

Former king, queen fly to India
Kathmandu, 6 Dec: Former King Gyanendra and Queen Komal flew for Bhubaneshwor, Orissan, via New Delhi Sunday to attend a wedding of a relative.
They will be away for a fortnight.
They drove in a carcade to the airport on the day called a Maoist nation-wide strike that crippled life in the capital and elsewhere.
