Giirija admitted to heart hospital

Kaathmandu, 14 March: Girija Prasad Koirala was rushed to Saheed Gangalal Heart Center late Sunday afternoon after his health deteriorated.
He has low hemoglobin count and low blood pressure.
He has been given a blood transfusion.
A specialist doctor was flown in from New Delhi to treat him
He moved to his daughter’s residence Thursday from a rented house in Maharajgunj,

More details of govt. request to UN agency to qui t Nepal

Kathmandu, 14 March: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal told Richard Bennet to prepare a plan and strategy to quit Nepal.
“The prime minister asked the commission should prepare a strategy and plan to quit Nepal,’ his advisor Rajen Bhattarai told Radio Nepal Sunday.
The tenure of the UN High Commission for Human Rights ends 5 June.

Nepali Congress to continue to support govt.

Kathmandu, 14 March” A sudden meeting of Nepali Congress central leaders Sunday decided to continue its support for the government as Maoists prepared to bring a no-confidence motion against the government.
A meeting of leaders concluded Sunday Maoist attempt to push a no-confidence emotion against the Madhav Kumar Nepal government was a ploy to obstruct the peace process and the drafting of a constitution.
Congress leaders met after Maoists discussed convening a special meeting of parliament to discuss a no-confidence motion against the government.
The meting also decided to ask UNMIN to complete a rocess o itegrating Maoist combatants before 28 May.
Deputy Prine Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar, who returned home Sunday from India after consultations Indian leaders and officials, lent support to the Nepal government.

Karin Landgrin holds meeting with three major parties

Kathmandu, 14 March: UNMIN Chief Karin Landgrin held emergency discussions with leaders of thee major parties Sunday after an angry outburst by her superior last week.
She held discussions with leaders of Maoists, Nepali Congress and UML.
The government objected to the outburst of UN Deputy Secretary-general for Political Affairs B. Lynn Pascoe saying it was ‘undiplomatic’.
Krishna Bahadur Mahara of Maoists and Krishna Prasad Shitaula of Nepali Congress were present at the meet for damage control and to find a resolution to a government demand.
The government is demanding information from the UNMIN the exact number of combatants at camps after three years of verification.

Public holiday for Ghodejatra announce for Valley

Kathmandu, 14 March: Government Sunday announced a public holiday for reiscients of the Valley to celebrate Ghodejatra Monday.
Government has been conceding public holidays to groups nation-wide to celebrate festivals amid complaints holidays are far too many.
