Girija asks colleagues to prevent bloodshed

Kathmandu, 3 March: Ailing Prime Minister Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad told leaders of three major political parties he expects a bloodshed and asked them to prevent.
He told this to leaders of Nepali Congress, UML and Maoists.
He also told them Thursday from his bed, where he was on oxygen, he may not survive long, according to Janaastha.”
My health is deteriorating further. Don’t rely on me now. You all handle the situation.
“I see big bloodshed in the country if you all don’t handle the situation.
‘Do you want it? It’s your responsibility to stop it. Now my life is unpredictable.”
He told Prachanda: “The mechanism [HLPM] was meant for you not me. Prachanda must consider this now.”
He asked Maoists to forgive President Dr Ram Baran Yadav.
“I’ve been saying this. Forget the presidential action. If you can’t do this forgive him. Consider my forget and forgive formula.”
(Note: He told this to Prachanda as he colluded with India and other foreign powers, including India, UK and USA to topple monarchy, after King Gyanendra imposed direct rule five years ago to tackle the Maoist insurgency.)

Yechuri asks Maoists to join incumbent government.

Kathmandu, 3 March: Controversial Indian communist leader, who has been interfering in Nepal’s internal affairs, has asked Maoists to join
the incumbent government.
He gave this suggestion to Maoist leaders during a three-day visit
that ended Tuesday.
He has direct contacts and good relations with Maoists who have launched an anti-India campaign.
‘I held broad discussins with Prachanda, Baburam Bhattarai and
Krishna Bahadur Mahara. Positive discussions were held with them to prioritize constitution drafting and the process, not power.
“I asked them to join this government. I told them a government with Maoists should be formed,” he told Ghatana ra Bichar.

Gold import banned

Kathmandu, 3 March: Nepal Rashtra bank (NRB) has banned the import of gold even in hand carriage from Tuesday due to fears that the imported gold could be smuggled to India amid India hiking the import duty on gold through the budget recently, The Kathmandu Post reports.
