Jamin Shah probe committee given 15 more days to complete report

Kathmandu, 30 March: A government committee to probe the murder of media magnate Jamin Shah was given another 15 days by the cabinet Tuesday to complete its report.
Government has come under heavy criticism for failure to protect lives and property of citizens.
Initial reports said an Indian criminal languishing in a jail in Lucknow, ordered the killing of Shah.

Govt. to refund NEA for vehicles provided to former premiers and home ministers

Kathmandu, 30 March: Cabinet Tuesday decided to compensate Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for vehicles it has provided to former prime ministers and home ministers adding to its financial woes.
The authority, even as it suffers heavy losses, provided vehicle and fuel facilities to them under a verbal government order.
Former prime ministers, including Chairman Prachanda, have been accepting the government facility, unashamedly as the sole authority generating and distributing electricity bleeds.
The government of beleaguered Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, in order to save his government, at a cabinet meet Tuesday in an appeasement handed out government doles to various sections of society.
The Nepal government even decided to provide vehicle ad fuel facilities to all leaders of 25 political party chiefs represented in parliament and the constituent assembly.
