Janakpur FM operator shot dead
Kathmandu, 1 March: Operator of Janakpur FM Arun Shinghani was shot dead in the Janakpur Monday night.
Three motorcyclists shot him dead.
He also was publisher of Janakpur Today and ran a nursing home.

Hailstorm in capital leaves damage
Kathmandu, 1 March: A two-minute hailstorm in the capital Monday night left behind a trail of damage as trees were uprooted mainly in the Maharangunj, Lazimpat and Ghaushala areas.
No human casualties were immediately reported but several vehicles were crushed by uprooted trees.
There was a partial power outage in several areas.
The storm damaged premises of the British embassy.

Three top leaders meet ahead of HLPM meet
Kathmandu, 1 March: Leaders of Nepali Congress and UML Monday fixed six subjects Monday for discussions at a meeting of the high-level political mechanism {HLPM] Tuesday.
They discussed ways to end the prolonged deadlock, including a government change.
UML and Maoists held separate discussions as well.

Nine-day Maharudri for a Hindu state
Kathmandu, 1 March: A nine-day Maharudhi [fire offerings] is being organized at Bankali in Pashupati from Tuesday demanding the declaration of a Hindu state overturning a decision by an unelected and self-appointed parliament to declare a secular state.
Eighty-five percent of Nepal’s population are Hindus.
The worship is being organized by Kalibaba born in Nepal but who lives in Indaa.
Former Kathmandu mayor and Nepali Congress leader Haribol Bhattarai is pushing the worship.
The demand for a Hindu state comes at a time when President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and Maoist Chairman Prachanda expressed the doubts on wisdom of declaring Nepal a secular in front of Hindu holy men..
