No agreement between UML and Nepali Congress

Kathmandu, 7 March: There was no agreement Sunday between Nepali Congress and UML in appointments chiefs of tconstitutionalbodiea and governor of NepalRAshtra bank.
A committee has recommended three names for governor of the central bank.
The two ruling parties are pushing their candidates to fill in the vacancies.
A meeting Saturday was inconclusive as well.

Maoists want UNMIN to continue/

Kathmandu, 7 March: Maoist Vice-Chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai saiod Sunday UNMIN should stay until the peace process us completed.
He held discussions with UMNIN Chief Karin Landgren Sunday.
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal demanded a recount of Maoist combatants at a meeting with Landgren last week.
The discussions were held amid government calls for a re-count of 19,000 plus Maoist combatants in cantonments and satellite camps amid fears they have quit.
Government says a headcount is needed to distribute monthly allowances and perks to actual combatants.
Meanwhile, a Maoist leader alleged India wants UNMIN out of Nepal.
“Statements against UNMIN are not the government’s. It’s India’s.
‘India wants to replace UNMIN. This isn’t acceptable to us,” said UCPN (Maoist) Foreign Department Chief Krishna Bahadur Mahara in Dang Saturday.
UNMIN mandate ends 15 May.

Nepal in Group A

Kathmandu, 7 March: Nepal is in Group A of the 8th ACC Trophy Elite 2010 being championship played in Kuwait from 31 March to 9 April.
Hong Kong is the defending champion.
Singapore, Kuwait and Oman are also in the group.

Nepal to play in Bangladesh soccer tournament’

Kathmandu, 7 March: Nepal is in Group A of the AFC President’s Cup soccer tournament being hosted by Bangladesh.
The tournament is being played from 12 to 16 in May.
Nepal is in the group with Abhini Limited of Bangladesh, Dordoi Bishkek of Kyrgyzstan and Yoedy of Chinese Taipei.

Unofficial coming

Kathmandu, 7 March: UN Undersecretary for Political Affairs B. Lynn Pascoe arrives for a three-day visit 10 March.
He will held discussions with government and political party leaders amid fears a constitution may not be promulgated before the 28 May deadline.
The peace process has also run into obstacles and UNMIN has come under heavy fire from government for its ineffectiveness in managing cantonments and satellite camps under UN watch.
