President to save republic

Kathmandu, 25 March: Even as former King Gyanendra indicated monarchy may stage a comeback, President Dr Ram Baran Yadav said it’s his duty to save a republic.
“A republic has come after a big movement. People have become masters. My first dharma is to protect a republic,” he told Kantipur Wednesday at his home in Sapari, Dhanusha.

Minister pockets donor money

Kathmandu, 25 March: Minister for Women, Child ad Social Welfare Sharbadeb Prasad Ojha has pocketed millions of rupees offered by foreign agencies for children adoption, Rajdhani reports.
Every foreign agency pay 10,000 dollars for the adoption of one child.
From January 2010, 56 foreign agencies have sought adoptions offering 560,000 dollars.
Minister Ojha has illegally collected the money in his account with Nepal Investment Bank at Putali Sadak.
An estimated Rs 550.45 million has been collected in that account.
