One more Maoist argument for govt. to quit

Kathmandu, 16 April: Maoists Thursday presented one more argument for the government to quit after UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said a constitution won’t be promulgated by the 28May deadline.
“The government has lost its moral authority to continue in office,” said Maoist spokesman Dinanath Sharma after Khanal’s statement.
Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said: “The peace process is more important than drafting the constitution.”
Only42 days remain for the constitution to be promulgated within the deadline.
Khanal asked leaders Thursday not to ’lie’ to the people by saying a constitution can be launched within the deadline.
Irrigation Minister Bal Krishna Khand revealed Friday Congress, UML and Maoists parties reached a secret agreement before Girija Prasad Koirala died to extend the constituent assembly tenure by six months.
