Curfew slapped in Humla, Dhankuta; other details (DEVELOPING STORY)

Kathmandu, 6May: Curfews were slapped in Dhankuta and district headquarters Simikot in Humla in the far-West after clashes between Maoists, UML and Nepali Congress activists Thursday.
Dozens of ruling party activists, Maoists and policemen have been injured in clashes nation-wide as opposition to the Maoist strike swells.
Government offices and vehicles have been attacked.
Maoists converged in New Road from 18 points in the capital and brought out a Red Rally from New Road at the end of Thursday’s a day-long seize that has brought the entire nation to a standstill for five consecutive days.
Maoist district office in Rajbiraj was also attacked Thursday.
Ambassadors of heads of EU member states collectively met Chairman Prachanda and told him the strike has created a grave political crisis.
EU is considered friendly to Maoists.
National Human Rights Commission said UML Youth Force was responsible for Wednesday’s shooting in Bhaktapur in which nobody was injured during a clash with Maoists.
UCPN (Maoist) standing committee concluded ruling parties have decided to mobilize organizations affiliated it against the strike—a move that will be countered.
Chairman Prachanda chaired the meeting.
The main opposition came to the conclusion even as it mobilized its own organizations for the indefinite strike to topple the 11-month government of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal to replace it with what they call a national government under its leadership.
The party later met Thursday to develop a strategy to counter the mobilization by ruling parties.
A meeting of UML against Maoists to withdraw the indefinite strike that is having a crippling effect with the restriction of the movement of vehicles and people.
