Maoists are attempting to force an alliance with 12 of 25 political parties in the constituent assembly and parliament, Spokesman Dinanath Sharma said.
Nepal came to power with the support of 22 parties but in the last ruling party coalition meeting to same the government only 15 parties attended.
The political situation is dicey.
Maoists are now using the parliament and the street to topple the government.
Maoists decided Sunday they will sit for a dialogue with government to form a national government only after Nepal tenders his resignation.
Among the 12 parties, MJF and NSP (Devi) are supporting Maoists.
Not all Maoist supporters are communists.

“A constitutional monarch in Great Britain is absolutely silent after a rare hung parliament there. She’s letting leaders speak and act. But in Nepal, a ceremonial president issues statements, holds discussions with the army chief and political parties in the midst of a crisis. This is loktantra not prajatantra.”

“By seeking presidential rule backed by the army, it is suspect whether the NWPP leader [Narayanman Bijukakchaya] may have struck a tacit alliance with India. With a madeshi commoner as supreme commander, Bijukakchaya probably thinks the generals can mount a genuine and popularly acceptable second national unification campaign.”
