Parties huddled in discussions to avoid major political crisis
Kathmandu, 16 May: Three major parties-Maoists, NC and UML, were huddled in internal political discussions on how to tackle la crisis as a constitution to institutional a declared republic won’t be promulgated by the 28 May deadline.

Amended for the 8th time to extend the twp-year mandate of the constituent assembly (CA) that also ends 28 May.
The two parties have agreed to usurp the right of people to vote CA members to draft a constitution.
Should parliament decide to extend the CA mandate, then a constitution won’t be promulgated by elected people’s representatives.
Main opposition Maoists have adopted a stance not to extend theca tenure if the government is not replaced by another administration.
NC of late had pressed a government under its leadership.
The party central committee and parliamentary party held joint discussions Sunday.
