Written explanation from Bamdev Gautam; other details (DEVELOPING STORY)

Kathmandu, 3 May: A disciplinary committee of UML which is heading the government Monday sought a written explanation from Vice-chairman Bamdev Gautam who called for the resignation of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal by speaking publicly against party policy.
The light reprimand was given by a committee headed by another party Vice-chairman Amrit Bohara,
Maoists and UML held political discussions to break the prolonged stalemate; the teams were led by Chairmen Prachanda and Jhalanath Khanal respectively.
A scheduled meeting of parliament couldn’t be held Monday because of the continuing Maoist strike.
Violence was reported from Pokhara, Lamjung , Nawalparasi and Rauthat during the strike.
Attendance at government offices was light in Singha Durbar where Maoists staged a sit-in since early morning.
Banking was affected as well.
