Five dead, two injured

Kathmandu, 3 June: Five members of a health team died at Lekhani-2 in Okhanldunga overnight at 7.30 in the evening when a minibus fell off a road.
Three died on the spot while two succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Twelve have been injured.
The team was to start a health camp at Rumjatar Thursday.
The health team headed for central hill district Okhaldunga from BP Koirala Memorial Hospital in Dharan.

Nepal-India army ties restored, Indian army chief being honoured

Kathmandu, 3 June: Reflecting the restored ties between Nepal and India and the armies of the two countries, Nepal will confer the rank of honourary general of Nepal Army on the new Indian Army Chief Gen. V.K.Singh
The cabinet Wednesday cleared his Nepal visit and decided to confer on him the rank of honourary general of Nepal Army, an army source said.
Dates for the visit haven’t been finalized yet.
Ties were snapped during the royal regime.
Gen. Singh’s predecessor Gen. Deepak Kapoor was also similarly honoured when ties between Kathmandu and New Delhi restored.
Army Chief Gen Chatraman Singh Gurung has already been conferred the rank of honourary general of Indian army.
The exchange of such hour is a barometer for the state of relations between the two countries.
Honours aren’t exchanged when relations are cool.
