Sushil Koirala summons district presidents; 35 presidents ignore
call

Kathmandu, 5 July: Nepali Congress (NA) Acting President Sushil Koirala has summoned party district presidents to the capital at a time when there’s a dispute for the selection of a candidate for prime minister, Rajdhani reports.
Thirty-five presidents have ignored the summons when Koirala said the parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Paudel should lead the next government
According to sources, Koirala and Paudel held collective discussion Monday with 40 district presidents on who lo send to government.
The request to make Paudel prime minister is being made to presidents as per plans of leaders Dr Ram Sharan Mahat and Krishna Prasad Shitaula,
Leaders behind senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and general Secretary KB Gurung, the parliamentary party board should take the final decision.

Nepal efforts to curb money laundering

Kathmandu, 5 July: Nepal is to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mongolia, Thailand and Malaysia on financial information exchange to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing at the 13th annual general meeting of the Asia-Pacific Group on Money Laundering to be held in Singapore from July 12-16,The Kathmandu Post reports.
Nepal is member of the group.
With the signing of the MoU, the two sides will have to provide each other financial information about persons suspected to have been involved in money laundering. Nepal has already signed such agreements with Bangladesh and Si Lanka.

Railway Dept. to be formed

Kathmandu, 5 July: Railway department is to be formed to establish a railway network, Kantipur reports.
The department will be formed after completion of the feasibility reports for a 1,000 km east-west railway network and the 200 km Kathmandu-Pokhara railway line.
