Kathmandu, 10 July: Ruling UML leaders Saturday didn’t turn up at a summit with Maoists and NC and UML to discuss Maoist proposals for integration of resettlement of its 19,000 fighters demanded by ruling parties to from a national unity government led by the main opposition.
Maoists were to put their proposals for support on other issues like YCL dissolution and return of seized assets demanded by the ruling parties.

Only three days remain for parties to assemble a consensus government in the extended five days; no new date was announced a
The development is a serious blow to the process of government-making.
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal’s government is only a caretaker administration after resigning under Maoist pressure.
UML has taken a strong anti-Maoist stance at Saturday’s standing committee meeting to discuss the murder of Okhalgungha district leader Chabilal Karki Thursday night in the district putting the responsibility on Maoists.
Maoists rejected the accusation.
The body is Karki is being transported to the capital Saturday for public viewing and cremation.
The standing committee decided to expose Maoists and hold meetings nation-wide to protest the murder which has now marginalized government-making effort.
A consensus government is unlikely to be put together in the next three days with the new development.
The ruling parties were lobbying for a national government under their own leadership, rejecting a Maoist demand for an administration under them.
